Length of placement: 5 weeks plus

Experience gained:
A chance for students/recent graduates to gain knowledge and experience working for rising womenswear designer Hermione de Paula, who recently showed during London Fashion week as part of the Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s ‘One’s to Watch’ initiative, and now winner of Vauxhall Fashion Scouts – Merit Award for AW10/11 (previous winners were William Tempest & David Koma). Hermione de Paula specialises in print design and is currently working towards launching her SS10 collection exclusively in London in Browns Focus, and internationally in Europe and Asia. Students will be working towards the AW10/11 collection showing at London Fashion Week 22nd February. The stature of the work is aimed at high-end fashion, working with experienced print designers, pattern cutters and other industry professionals.
The role is most suited for those looking to work within a creative studio. We are looking for a candidate who is experienced in pattern cutting and sewing with an eye for professional finishing.
This placement benefit an experienced pattern cutter and allowing them to put their skills into practice while working with printed fabrics. Those who wish to take advantage of the placement will benefit from a range of tasks that are suited to your skills and areas you most want to develop so that you get the most from your experience at Hermione de Paula.
Skills required:
*Good knowledge of the use of industrial sewing machines
*Knowledge of cutting silk fabric
*Good knowledge of garment construction and finishing.
