I have recently graduated from studying a BA (hons) in Textile Design at the University of Derby Achieving a 2.1 where I have developed a strong understanding of design throughout knitwear. I am interested in working as part of a design team to further my skills and knowledge of knitwear design to eventually follow a freelance career path.

I feel that to gain work experience in a design studio will help me to develop as an individual and to help to start my career path gaining industry experience.

Over time I have gained lots of relevant experience working for various different retail stores including a, 2 weeks work experience placement at the head office at George working with the boys-wear design team.

My final major collection was inspired by the 1960’s and 70’s patterns, as a knitwear designer all kinds of patterns inspire my design work which enable me to create new contemporary design’s. Throughout the past 3 years I gained a strong understanding of how to design a knitwear collection from developing various mood boards. The exploration of pattern and colour on my mood boards provide great inspiration to my drawing and I always focus on the colour and texture to keep my knitwear up to date.
