The Distil Ennui Studio is the brainchild of photographer Alexander James, as a collective we are constantly looking to engage our work with key artistic, intellectual and political issues of our time through the use of the photographic medium. Our current projects are published on a global scale, with over 20 separate spreads running in print right now around the globe.
Alexander James has over 20 years experience in the Advertising industry with past clients including The Microsoft Corporation, Hewlett Packard, Peugeot, Samsung, Versace, Shangri-la, Ermenegildo Zegna, Chanel and The Burj Dubai to name but a few.
Recent work has been published in The LA Times, Qvest Magazine, Creative Review, DesignScene, Kamerakunst, Luxsure, Design Week and Schon Magazine amongst many others. Alexander’s current Taxi series has just closed in London and is now exhibiting in Souel and Los Angeles. His work is also a part of the Art Mosh collective with shows moving around Europe.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The studio is looking for a styling intern to assist Davy Pittoors, current head of styling at the studio.
Day-to-day tasks would be to assist Davy and the PR interns with roles that include researching, maintaining databases, blogging, assisting on photoshoots, etc.
Successful Candidates would preferably have a strong Fashion, Art and Media background, and should also be VERY Internet savvy and competent in Word, Excel, Outlook Express preferably in a Mac environment. An ability to show initiative and a dynamic approach, being results motivated will be an advantage if not an expectation.
Candidates should understand about the need to be flexible to suit the sometimes tough production schedules of the studio. This will involve traveling all around London in assisting with collecting from our suppliers, designers and props manufacturers.
Experience Gained
The intern will gain experience in working for a busy London photography studio and make great contacts with a broad sweep of key industry figures such as model agencies, PR companies, etc.
Other opportunities include experiencing the full production and creative process of a photo shoot.
Location: Royal Victoria Dock, London
Expenses: Travel & Lunch expenses paid with prospects of a paid position with the studio.
