We are looking for an enthusiastic and extremely organised individual to join our team at Caramel to fill our Junior Fabric Development and Production Assitant position.

We are looking for a candiate who must have at least 1 year within the Fashion industry, with an understanding of the development process and basic fabric knowledge, and who is looking to take the next step in their career.

The Position

  • Research new season fabric/trim sources and developments with mills and factory sources. 
  • Comminucating with factories and mills during the development process for all fabric/trim developments and orders.
  • Managing the approvals of all lab dips, strike offs and strip approvals for all sampling and production fabrics/trims.
  • Ordering sample meterage and bulk production, tracking lead times.
  • Organise fabric trade shows and yarn fair appointments.
  • In charge of logging and updating tracking master for each seasons fabric and trims.
  • Management of the Fabric and trim Archive.
  • Assist the production team to create seasonal product lists, pricing master and wholesale order sheets.
  • Assist with production shipment approvals, comments and QC of bulk.

Skills Required

  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • Positive and self motivated.
  • Degree in Fashion or textiles.
  • Competent use Excel.
  • Basic Adobe illustrator/photoshop.
  • An understanding of product lifecycle. 
  • Basic fabric knowledge.
