The Role of Design Admin Assistant

Club L has an excellent entry-level opportunity ideal for placement students or recent graduates in BA Fashion Design & Technology.  The successful applicant will gain gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, commercial environment, with exposure to the full design and product development lifecycle.

The role supports the application of academic learning in a real-world setting, while developing both creative and technical skills. You’ll also gain insight into supplier communication, garment development, and production, building a strong foundation for future roles in the industry.

Key Responsibilities of the Design Admin Assistant:

  • Supporting with seasonal trend research and inspiration.
  • Updating range plans and contributing to the development of colour palettes and mood boards.
  • Producing CAD drawings across multi-product categories.
  • Creating and amending clear, accurate tech packs.
  • Supporting Garment Technologists and Senior Designers during fit sessions.
  • Liaising with suppliers on a daily basis, including chasing samples, strike-offs, and fabric swatches.
  • Assisting with the sourcing and organisation of fabrics and trims.
  • Maintaining and updating administrative systems to accurately track sample development.

What Club L is looking for:

  • A degree-level qualification in Fashion Design or a related discipline (e.g. BA Fashion Design & Technology)
  • Proficiency with Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within a commercial setting.
  • Confidence in presenting ideas and work to a wider team.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to respond to the pace and demands of industry.
