About: Alöe is a women’s loungewear label, set up in 2003 by London designer Claire Judge. Alöe is a line of stylish silk lingerie and pyjamas designed to be worn outside of the home. Alöe enjoyed immediate success and the brand has evolved into an internationally recognised label.

Claire has collaborated with H&M, designing a collection of lingerie and loungewear, under her own name, to launch their '& Other Stories' brand in seven cities across Europe. She has also designed Alöe diffusion lines for other major high street retailers such as Topshop and Harvey Nichols and ready-to-wear collections for boutiques’ own brand labels.
Alöe enjoys a prestigious client base, which includes Nicole Kidman, Kate Moss, Dita Von Teese and Helena Christensen and its designs have been featured in the films 'Sex And The City: The Movie' and 'Spiderman 3'.

In 2011 Vogue UK cited Alöe as its favourite lingerie label.


I am offering a Student Work Placement or a dynamic student to work within my company Alöe on design and also with freelance womenswear design work we do for a London multi-brand boutique.  Alöe is a women's silk loungewear / ready to wear label based in London. Stockists include Fenwick Bond Street & Barneys NY.
 
Responsibilities during internship: 

  • Working closely to the Creative Director and Head designer
  • Making CAD flat garment drawing
  • Creating Tech packs for manufactuer under supervision
  • Creating Mood Boards and Collection Board
  • Collection Planning
  • Fabric and trim sourcing
  • Approving Factory samples
  • Organising the Studio room

Skills / Experience:

  • Photoshop and Illustrator skills mandatory (CADS, colouring sketches)
  • Excel, Word and office skills mandatory

What you will learn / we will teach you:

  • How to present designs to client
  • How to create tech packs for a manufacturer
  • How to work with a patterncutter in translating design concepts
  • How to source fabrics and trims
  • How to develop design inspiration into finished designs
