ISTINARA is a sustainable luxury jewelry brand that is set to officially launch in May 2025. This role will be involved in supporting the design and production team that is based in Turkey by helping develop the designs proposed by the team in addition to proposing design ideas for the team’s consideration.  

As ISTINARA is now developing its core jewelry collection with which it will go to market, this will be a hands-on-experience where you can apply your learned skills, set your creativity free, and see your designs come to life through developing marketable jewelry that will be offered to customers across the globe by a first-of-its-kind global brand.

Work can be done in a way that fits your existing school/ work obligations; however, the successful applicant will be required to submit jobs and any revisions before their respective deadlines.  Compensation: £125 a week for 10.5 hours; however, depending on level of contribution within the team, this can be increased as of the third month.

Upon the successful and mutually satisfying completion of the six-month role, a permanent position with ISTINARA will be offered.  Up for the challenge?  Read on!

Responsibilities:

• Conduct industry research – current and historical of jewelry sector and trends
• Conduct design research – seek inspiration from non-jewellery sources
• Prepare and present mood boards for the proposed core collection and supplementary designs based on Creative Director brief, brand story, research results, your own creative input
• Present preliminary hand drawn designs for the approved mood boards and respective feedback alongside justifications for how the designs can be produced (technical) and worn by the future customer
• Convert final hand drawn designs into 3-D renderings
• Create technical files to be sent to the workshop
• Working with the Creative Director, ensure design is conveyed and understood properly by the workshop, and ultimately reflected in the finished goods

Profile:

• Student from School of Design or Graphic Design specialized in jewellery
• Good understanding of the jewelry industry – current and historical
• Excellent freehand drawing skills
• Excellent gouache rendering techniques and/or proficiency in Rhino
• Proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Strong knowledge of gemology as well as jewelry manufacturing and techniques
• Hold a strong passion for creation
• Possess a wild imagination in design
• Inspired by all things art, design, and nature
• Possess an innate interest in sustainability and circular economy
• A creative, visionary, and imaginative mindset
• You put your whole head and heart into what you work working on
• Respect deadlines and own your responsibilities
• Good communication skills
