About: Lou Dalton has established herself as a starlet of British Menswear, generating a fever of excitement among those influential to showcasing British fashion talent. This support to date has manifested itself through awards from Fashion East, and more recently through the BFC NEW GEN MAN with presentations at London & Paris Fashion Week.

Currently we are offering the opportunity for a student to join the studio starting in December 2017 on a part time or full time basis to help with developing of the AW18 collection.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking student who is looking for a Placement within a fast paced fashion environment.

The ideal candidate should have the following :

  • Skilled user of Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Precise pattern cutting skills
  • Strong machine and hand sewing ability
  • Self-driven, resourceful and responsible
  • Willingness to learn and work within a team
  • Prepared to complete a variety of tasks

Tasks will include but not limited to:

  • Toiling, hand sewing and finishing
  • Pattern cuttng development
  • Cutting for both toiles and finished garments in final fabrics
  • General organising of the studio
  • General studio errands

What you will learn / we will teach you:

  • Professional industry standards within a designer studio
  • Stages and processes of both sampling and production
  • Working with final fabrics and cutting techniques
  • Sewing skills, both by hand and machine
  • Basic pattern cutting knowledge
  • Introduction to production globally

The successful candidate will undertake tasks from all areas of the business and gain a plethora of skills relating to the running of a menswear fashion label.
