Working with women from disadvantaged backgrounds to create the range, the collection is handmade, and each woman paid the London Living Wage, creating direct Social Impact in the lives of the ladies who work together to make the pieces. We value traditional crochet and knitting techniques, preserving the artisanal processes that stimulate mental health and well being here in London.

Glow & See is an ethical fashion brand based in East London.  We are currently offering a fantastic Social Media Student Work Placement opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Student to work and gain real experience with a small but ambitious start up.  This position provides a fantastic opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the ethical fashion world and social enterprise.

We are looking for someone enthusiastic about social media and highly motivated who is keen to take some initiative, has ideas and will not wait to be told exactly what to do. Ideally you would be more than an active user of social media platforms.  If you love fashion, art and sustainability, you're welcome to join us.

What you will be doing:

  • Developing our tone and voice to strengthen our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
  • Creating and maintain relationships with relevant online influencers. Contacting influencers and bloggers to encourage them to review our products or wear them in return for a social media post 
  • Reaching out to celebrities, i.e. reality stars, and offer to send them products for upcoming holidays etc
  • Developing social media strategy and coming up with new ideas on how to increase outreach and increase our social media followers
  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends.
  • Building up our connections, followers and likes through positive, informative and enriching content
  • Tracking the growth and the impact of social media on our organisation.
  • Website content management systems, e.g. WordPress, Shopify
  • Email marketing systems, e.g. MailChimp. Drafting and sending out newsletters to all our subscribers
  • Social media systems, e.g. Hootsuite.

Profile:

  • Reliable, creative, diligent, detailed, lively, wanting to be part of our close nit happy team.
  • Student level knowledge of Adobe Suite
  • Enthusiastic, self motivated, can use own initiative
  • Film/ and or photography skills welcome
  • Based in London or willing to travel into our office 

What you will learn

  • Communication skills by dealing with external and internal personal
  • Exposure in all aspects of an Ath-leisure, ethical fashion brand working alongside a small team
  • How to create new content  by analysing successful posts and analytics
  • An understanding of technology in fashion
  • How to collaborate with external sectors such as charities and other Social Enterprises
