MMC Communications is seeking a proactive and diligent Account Manager with knowledge & passion for all things beauty and wellness!  The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, hard-working, self-starter with a minimum of 3 years PR experience, looking to take their career to the next level!

Key Responsibilities for the Account Manager

Campaign Proposals:

  • Input into campaign proposals and help develop/ research creative ideas.

Creative Development:

  • Contribute to weekly meetings with creative ideas for angles, social media interactions and campaigns and drive through implementation.

Creative Intelligence:

  • Lead account brainstorms and contributes ideas that are commercially viable
  • Attend regular brainstorm sessions for new business pitches and other clients in the agency to hone your creativity
  • Keep track of competitive agency propositions and creative ideas and flag them to your teams and the wider agency

Account Management:

  • Responsible for knowing everything that is going on across your accounts 
  • Make sure you cc the team on all your correspondence with the client.


  • Responsible for filing documents sent by clients/suppliers/partners on a daily basis
  • Ensure all documents are saved in the standard agency format


  • Make sure emails are acknowledged by yourself or someone on the team in a timely manner (within two hours) and ensure that the task is allocated and delivered

Attention to Detail:

  • Make sure all your work is well-written and thoroughly proofed – hand over to your team member ‘client-ready work
  • Final sign off on all written content must be given by the senior team/ops board

Client background:

  • Develop good knowledge of the market space including competitor developments, brand positioning and marketing strategy. Ensure emails show understanding of client positioning and give insight

Client liaison:

  • Talk with clients on a daily basis about allocated projects - do not rely only on email 
  • Send follow up notes after every client contact/conversation 
  • Be seen in client’s mind as the owner of key areas/all of their account.


  • Write press release/ blog posts/opinion pieces/letters as appropriate and pass to AD for sign off prior to sending to the client, with time for changes to be made
  • Ensure a high standard of attention to detail is adhered to at all times

Media Mapping:

  • Map out your stories, pitches, strategies, and timeline
  • Brainstorm to gather ideas and information to build the campaign.

Targets and Results:

  • Responsible for monitoring and driving results both individually and for your client account
  • Work with the client to ensure that there is enough content to ensure regular coverage.
  • Responsible for at least one national (or otherwise designated ‘major’ ) hit per client every month.

Understanding the media:

  • Read media on a daily basis including the weekends and flag relevant or interesting stories or content to your teams or, when relevant, the wider team.

Journalist/Influencer relationships:

  • Be in regular contact with top tier media contacts on behalf of each client. Make sure you speak to all of the clients “key media” at least once a month
  • Do two or more journalist meetings (outside of client work) per quarter
  • Develop relationships and ongoing dialogue with a circle of 10+ journalists

Daily coverage:

  • Send coverage to the client as soon as it comes in if first thing in the morning then by 9.30 am
  • Check for daily coverage and update client and coverage tracker.
  • Send weekly round up to client each Friday
  • Plan and deliver monthly review meetings with key clients 

Rapid response/news hijack: 

  • Scan first thing/lunchtime/end-of-day for issues and coverage of client relevance
  • Responsible for spotting one issue per week for each of your clients

Target media/influencer list:

  • Create suitable media/influencer lists for clients and check it’s kept up to date on a weekly basis

Sell ins: 

  • Discuss sell-in target media with the team and manage the sell in media list.
  • Be responsible for sections of media sell-ins – verbally first, then email, then follow-up
  • Rehearse AEs for sell-ins.
  • Flag when sell-in is becoming unproductive.
  • Update client on email and then discuss verbal update with AD.

Media/influencer briefing:

  • Ensure media/influencer briefing document is sent to client 24hrs in advance.  


  • Plan your time on a daily, weekly and monthly basis,

New business: 

  • Keep an eye out for prospects
  • Get involved in pitching


  • A minimum of 3 years' PR experience
  • Knowledge & passion for all things beauty and wellness.
