Betty Gets Hitched is an appointment-based bridal boutique in Muswell Hill, North London.  We stock a carefully curated edit of designer wedding dresses and offer an in-house alterations and made-to-order dressmaking service. We're a small, boutique operation - every bride gets a personal, considered experience, and we need an experienced bridal seamstress and fitter to join our team.

This is a hands-on bridal alterations role with a high volume of work ready to get started on immediately. Alongside working through our alterations pipeline, you'll also assist with style modifications and the making of dresses from our couture range. You'll be working directly with brides across all stages of their fittings journey - from first fitting through to final collection.

What the Bridal Seamstress/Fitter will be doing:

• Working through a substantial alterations workload across a range of wedding dresses and styles
• Conducting one-to-one bridal fittings with clients, ensuring every bride achieves the perfect fit
• Carrying out style modifications as requested - including structural alterations, design changes, and fabric manipulation
• Making dresses from our in-house couture range to client specifications
• Maintaining clear records of each bride's alterations, measurements, and fitting notes
• Keeping a professional, organised workspace in line with our boutique standards

WhatBetty Gets Hitched is looking for:

• 2 years' proven experience in bridal alterations.
• Confident with both intricate hand sewing and machine sewing
• Solid knowledge of bridal fabrics and garment construction, including various satins, crepe, lace and tulle
• A calm, professional and friendly manner with clients - you'll be working closely with brides at an important and emotional time
• Assisting brides with styling their wedding day look and trying on accessories such as veils, headpieces and jewellery
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload across fitting appointments
• Couture or bespoke dressmaking experience
