Launched in 2017, KNWLS is a London-based brand founded by Central Saint Martins graduates Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault. A Fashion East alumnus and an LVMH 2022 finalist, KNWLS was shortlisted for British Womenswear Designer of the Year at The Fashion Awards 2025, as well as for the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund in 2024 and 2026. KNWLS continues to build its list of elite stockists and international fan base, and has collaborated with Jean Paul Gaultier, G-Star RAW, Miss Sixty, and Nike.
KNWLS is looking for a Commerce Coordinator to drive commercial performance across wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels. Working closely with Product, Operations, Marketing and Finance, the successful applicant will oversee sales planning, trading performance, customer relationships and operational execution to maximise revenue while supporting the long-term growth of the brand.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors and management team, playing a key role in shaping the commercial growth of KNWLS. This is an opportunity to progress and take ownership within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
This is a full-time role based in our south east London studio. An immediate start is preferred.
Main Responsibilities of the Commerce Coordinator
Commercial Strategy:
- Drive commercial performance across wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels.
- Lead the annual and seasonal wholesale and DTC commercial strategy, setting budgets and targets to achieve business growth.
- Manage wholesale and DTC budgets and accounts, reporting to the Directors and management team.
- Forecast sales and revenue by channel.
- Produce regular trading reports and commercial analysis for senior management, identifying risks and growth opportunities.
- Analyse customer behaviour, sales trends, sell-through, product performance, margins and profitability to inform commercial strategy and operational decision-making.
- Support pricing and promotional strategy, lead range planning and pricing meetings to drive commercial growth.
- Proactively execute initiatives to improve wholesale and DTC performance and achieve sales targets.
- Chair regular commercial trading meetings, aligning Product, Marketing, Operations and Finance on trading performance, stock priorities and upcoming launches.
Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Management:
- Oversee the commercial trading performance of the DTC business, optimising merchandising, launches, promotions, website performance and conversion.
- Coordinate product launches and seasonal drops, working closely with the Product and Website teams.
- Manage VIP and personal orders, overseeing strategy, sales campaigns, appointments, customer communications, payments, order processing and deliveries.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support evolving commercial and seasonal requirements.
- Work with Marketing on campaigns and promotional activity to support DTC strategy.
- Coordinate IRL pop-ups, stock sales and other commercial initiatives.
- Monitor inventory levels, coordinate stock allocations, stock swaps and re-order requests across wholesale and DTC.
- Balance wholesale allocations with DTC planning and demand.
- Maintain inventory records and investigate stock discrepancies, supporting Accounts with inventory reporting, reconciliations and documentation for the year-end accounts.
Wholesale Account Coordination:
- Manage wholesale accounts, working closely with the external Sales Agency to develop key customer relationships, grow existing accounts and oversee the wholesale process from acquisition through to delivery.
- Act as the first point of contact for all wholesale account queries, including order coordination and processing, deliveries, reporting, and brand and staff training.
- Execute seasonal sales campaigns, working closely with the external Sales Agency to oversee OTBs and appointments.
- Arrange seasonal sales showrooms and all operational elements. Manage budgets, venue sourcing, set design, logistics, team travel and on-site execution to maintain brand standards.
- Coordinate the creation of Wholesale assets, invites, linesheets, order forms and lookbooks.
Commerce Logistics Coordination:
- Own wholesale and DTC logistics from production through to final delivery, overseeing freight shipments, customs clearance processes and customer communications to ensure deliveries are completed within seasonal trading calendars and customer delivery windows.
- Oversee DTC and wholesale logistics budgets and processes, coordinating with the Website and Product teams on timelines and delivery schedules to ensure accurate communication and on-time fulfilment.
- Coordinate the international movement of collections, fixtures and VM assets for international events (shows, shoots, showrooms and special projects), including temporary exports and imports, ATA Carnets and specialist transportation.
- Research, implement and optimise operational systems and processes, including 3PL management and cross-border logistics solutions, to support business growth.
- Develop and maintain relationships with 3PLs, freight forwarders, carriers and logistics partners to deliver reliable and cost-effective logistics solutions.
- Track imports and exports to ensure shipments are cleared correctly in adherence to and in compliance with UK and global trade regulations.
Commerce Administration:
- Own and continuously improve wholesale and DTC operational processes, administration and billing workflows.
- Oversee wholesale and DTC credit control and billing queries, working closely with Accounts.
- Maintain accurate logistics databases, records, shipping documentation and operational procedures, ensuring all internal systems remain up to date.
- Compile summaries and provide supporting documentation with Accounts for preparation of UK and EU VAT reporting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to optimise operational performance, improve efficiencies and ensure alignment across the business.
What KNWLS is looking for…
Key Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar fashion commerce, wholesale or merchandising role – in-house luxury brand experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of luxury or contemporary fashion market and industry trends.
- Commercially and operationally driven with experience working with both wholesale and DTC channels.
- Proven relationship, organisational and project management skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication and presentation abilities.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient with macOS, G Suite, Excel, Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign.
- Experience with Shopify and Zedonk is a plus.
