The eCommerce Trading Assistant will assist the Trading Manager in the effective management of the Matalan website, to deliver the company strategy, showcase the brand product offer and deliver the Matalan experience online.

Key responsibilities include:

• To take ownership of and maintain the online product range, uploading new products onto the website
• Improve the onsite customer journey by visual merchandising products and reviewing search results.
• Work with B&M and Marketing teams to feature the right products across the marketing channels
• To attend key marketing activity meetings and reflect online
• Conduct daily site walkthroughs to discover any errors or mistakes and amend accordingly.
• Review competitor activity and analysing trends to ensure we are in a good position within the marketplace
• Review key lines and best selling product to ensure opportunity is maximised and products have a good visibility throughout the website.
• Set up promotions in a timely manner to meet set deadlines
• Analyse e-commerce KPI metrics to maximise sales opportunities
• Report on site functionality, system and process issues to the web development team for resolution or development
• Complete ad-hoc reports and tasks in line with business and department requirements

Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

• Strong numerical and analytical ability
• Keen interest in E-commerce
• Computer literate – in particular intermediate skill level in Excel
• Understanding of web analytics
• Commercial awareness
