The Fabric & Trim Coordinator will be a strong self-starter, who enjoys working collaboratively with product developers and designers. Your expertise and involvement will be required end-to-end from design, through sourcing to final production.

  • Work closely with the product developer in order to be knowledgeable about technical and design part of woven and knit fabrics;
  • Be aware of seasonal calendar and place fabric bookings for purchase orders to domestic and overseas vendors in a timely manner;
  • Ensure all fabric orders meet our requirement for quality and color. Work with the mills to resolve any discrepancies or fabric claims;
  • Monitor testing. Receiving fabric and trim inspection reports, forwarding to mills, and saving on system;
  • Coordinate fabric library. Creating/maintaining seasonal swatch files;
  • Scheduling, coordinating, work on T&A calendar, work with mills domestically and offshore to ensure delivery; Make sure to get lab dips on time;
  • Manage fabric excess inventory in multiple locations, domestic and oversea – Keep up with seasonal inventory report from all vendors;
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records for allocation of fabrics and trim on spreadsheet;
  • Following up on creative requests from Heads of Design with suppliers, and informing promptly on restrictions of fabric and trim requests due to issues such as minimums/colours/price and lead time;
  • Working closely with Product Development Team to utilise stock fabric and source just in time stock fabrics/trims etc for retail and outlet buys;
  • Ensuring fabric and trim costs on are correct;
  • Resolving technical issues with bulk fabric and raw materials liaising between factories, laboratories and mills to resolve and obtain discounts if required;
  • Providing accounts with stock take and stock value (as required);
  • Creation and maintenance of seasonal price list for fabrics and trim sent to factories; 


  • At least 3 years’ experience in a fabric role for a fashion business [luxury would be an advantage];
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, ideally in fabric;
  • A practical knowledge of fabric production with a good understanding of mills and suppliers;
  • A practical and technical knowledge of trims;
  • A working understanding of testing;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel user;
  • Experienced in negotiating with suppliers;
  • A natural feel for luxury fabrics and trims;
  • A flexible approach to working hours, particularly during busy periods;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Detail oriented with strong follow-up skills; organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously – fast paced environment;
  • Knowledge of fabric construction is a plus.
