Lotus N Rose is looking for a passionate Fashion Designer to help develop new womenswear styles, from concept through to production-ready designs.

The arrangement is flexible.  It can be a part-time role with regular weekly hours or a freelance arrangement paid per project.  We're open to a hybrid setup, such as starting freelance and moving to permanent.  Rates and salary can be negotiated.  Tell us which you prefer, and we'll agree on terms that work for both sides.

Responsibilities of the Fashion Designer:

• Design [seasonal collections / capsule drops / new core styles] in line with our elegant, romantic, vintage-inspired aesthetic.
• Research trends, fabrics, colour and print.
• Create mood boards, sketches and technical flats.
• Prepare tech packs with measurements, construction and finishing notes (full guidance will be provided).
• Help select fabrics and trims, especially silk and cashmere.
• Support sampling and fit sessions with our manufacturers.
• Work closely with the founder to keep designs on schedule and true to the brand.

What Lotus N Rose is looking for…

Essential:

• A passion for fashion design and a style that suits Lotus N Rose: feminine, soft, elegant and timeless.
• A portfolio, which can include university or personal projects, showing your creative ability.
• A fashion design qualification or equivalent training (recent graduates welcome).
• Basic proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, or similar design software.
• An understanding of garment construction and a willingness to keep learning.
• Good communication and reliability in managing your time and deadlines.

Desirable:

• Experience in fashion.
• Experience with silk, cashmere or other fine fabrics.
• Knowledge of tech packs or working with manufacturers.
• Knowledge of CLO 3D or sustainable sourcing.
