British Vogue has an opportunity for an assistant to join its busy fashion department at the heart of the country’s most iconic magazine brand.

It is a varied role, which calls for a candidate who has the skillset to support the Fashion Market Director on a day to day basis, and help coordinate the fashion department, with general administration and logistics organisation. Among other tasks, he/she will be responsible for providing support in the coverage of worldwide fashion and accessories markets, organising data, preparing research and generally helping to ensure the smooth running of the fashion department. A central task will also be the management of the fashion shows schedule, so knowledge of designers, PRs, brands and the international fashion weeks’ structure and related planning is a real advantage.

The ideal candidate will be equally as passionate about new trends, brands, Vogue and the fashion world at large.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Fashion Market Director in the daily operations of the fashion department
  • Manage the fashion shows schedule, overseen by the Fashion Market Director
  • Work closely with the Fashion Market Director on administrative tasks and assist in the management of the daily schedule – logistics, travel and appointments
  • Support the fashion department with general administration and logistics organisation
  • Support the team in the fashion cupboard during busy times
  • Assist in the planning of seasonal trend reports, manage upkeep of the fashion runway server, track shoot prep, briefs and credits. 

Essential Skills & Requirements:

  • Excellent organisation and administration skills
  • Experience liaising with fashion PRs
  • Immaculate phone manner and secretarial skills
  • A genuine interest in designers, the fashion business, and current affairs in fashion and culture
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, and Microsoft Excel
  • Dedicated work ethic, flexibility and a positive attitude
  • Cheerful, proactive and hardworking personality.
