People Marketing is recruiting an experienced Garment Technologist for an established lifestyle apparel brand.  Working across multi-product womenswear (predominantly), our client is looking for a team player who understands production processes, fabric properties and who enjoys accountability and problem solving.

This is an in-house position for an initial 6-month period.

Garment Technologist – The Role:

• Delivering technical expertise to ensure all garments meet fit, quality and performance standards.
• Partnering with the design team to review tech packs, translate creative concepts into production‑ready specs and take full ownership from development to bulk.
• Leading and managing the fit process – analysing fit issues, advising on solutions and communicating clear comments to suppliers.
• Requesting, reviewing and approving fabric and product testing, including care labelling, bulk trims and fabric performance.
• Running wearer trials to ensure products hold up in real‑world use.
• Amending factory patterns and adjusting garments to achieve perfect fit accuracy.
• Joining weekly critical path meetings to update on progress and flag risks early.
• Liaising daily with offshore factories on construction details, fit requirements and sample development.
• Sealing samples for production and approving care labels, test reports and QC documentation.
• Monitoring returns, identifying root causes and driving continuous improvement.
• Keeping meticulous records and maintaining a clear technical history for each product.

Garment Technologist – The Candidate:

• A Garment Technologist, Product Technologist or Product Developer with experience in a similar apparel environment.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit management, pattern adjustments and fabric testing.
• Confident working directly with offshore factories, understanding production workflows and building strong supplier relationships.
• A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with a calm approach to challenges.
• Excellent time‑management skills and the ability to pivot when needed.
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills 
• A collaborative team player who’s also comfortable working independently.
• Proficient with Excel
