Jenny Packham has an exciting opportunity for a Garment Technologist/QC to join the team in our London studio.

Suitable applicants will have a good understanding of luxury products, including construction, fabric, print and embellishment techniques along with garment performance, including fabric testing, the interpretation of test reports and a knowledge of product compliance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Looking after and maintaining each style in the collection as they arrive from the factories.
  • Keeping a cohesive log of the samples as they arrive to help maintain workflow.
  • Attend Showings of each style to the Design Team, take notes of any or all alterations that is required.
  • Implement hand beading alterations that are required in house, working alongside our in-house Hand Sewer to process that alterations.
  • Implement any machine alterations required with the Machining Team.
  • Work closely with Atelier Team on the processing of each Collection through the room, ready for photoshoots, hand sewing, beading and application of motifs to in house sampling process.
  • Work on special projects and garments as they come up.
  • Liaise with factories on all alterations made so they are aware head of the production process.
  • Help maintain the Critical Path across all Collections being processed through the Atelier.
  • Liaise with Sampling co-ordinators on the purchasing of any Raw materials for In-house samples, special projects etc... that is required for any alterations.
  • Access of PLM system to log samples.
  • Access of Sampling Intranet system to keep the flow of information moving across all Departments, as and when needed.

Who we are looking for:

  • General knowledge of garment construction
  • A minimum of 2 years of garment technology experience.
  • A practical mindset, good at problem solving with a ‘can-do’ positive attitude.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Exceptional hand sewing skills for hand beading and garment finishing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Methodical and well organised with a good eye for detail.
  • Computer literate, with confidence in using Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and people skills, good at building inter-departmental relationships.
  • A collaborative and flexible approach to work alone but also as part of the wider team.
