'As a creative director at Smythson and during my life at Number 10 Downing Street I always found it hard to source contemporary, trend-led pieces that weren’t corporate or dull. I wanted beautiful clothes that made me feel confident, cool and appropriate but, given my hectic life as a working mother of four, didn’t require endless dry cleaning and could carry me from the school gate to the office to an evening event. Cefinn is all about effortless pieces with stylish details and a hint of laid.

CEFINN is searching for an experienced product-oriented head of PD and Production with extensive knowledge within the premium Womenswear market.

In this role, you will oversee, and ultimately be accountable for, the full lifecycle of CEFINNs ready-to-wear product from sketch through development, production, and final delivery.

Successful candidate will be responsible for setting and maintaining the seasonal calendar and for driving forward the execution and logistics of great quality garments that meet critical dates and margin expectations.
This role works closely with our Creative Director for approval of designs and development, and with our global manufacturing partners.



  • Source new mills and trims suppliers in line with seasonal brief
  • Source new factories in line with supplier strategy. Understand factory requirements + ethical requirements

Product Development: 

  • Multi category product management
  • Work closely with design team to prepare information needed for production
  • Work closely with external print designers on new seasonal print designs
  • Work with external print mills to order printed sampling for seasonal presentation
  • Negotiate and confirm raw material and finished goods prices to improve margin
  • Follow costing process through development to final production stage (review initial targets based on desired margins, negotiate price with factories, actualizes yields)
  • Own and manage colour approval process of all fabrics and trims from sampling to bulk
  • Create techpacks - Illustrated hand over sketches, Measurement Chart, Graded Chart and BOM
  • Create care labels
  • Upload and Maintain product details on PLM. Own PLM process and seek continuous improvement
  • Quality control, ensuring the products meet high quality standards throughout the production process. Schedule QC and approve QC reports and final packing lists
  • Create Seasonal presentation linesheets - pre and post presentation
  • Create and own seasonal range plans - create and maintain product related information (SKU, pricing, margin)
  • Co-owner of product strategy understanding merchandising principles and line planning (with leadership and sales)
  • Create and maintain processes, checks and balances for time and quality standards
  • Maintain product development budget
  • Travel to factories and international trade shows, where appropriate
  • Manage product sustainability and implement sustainable sourcing policies


  • Oversee fittings to make sure garments are meeting quality requirements
  • Manage in-house studio and sampling requirements. This includes in-house studio staff and external freelancers
  • Manage all factory fit comments / samples from 1st factory to Pre-shipment
  • Manage testing of fabric - ensure it meets BS / EN standards
  • Create and maintain technical section of the supplier manual


  • Greige booking with mill
  • Capacity planning and forecasting with factories to enable delivery date requirements to be met
  • Oversee raw materials orders and deliveries within timelines
  • Work with internal and external teams to Minimize waste
  • Create bulk fabric, trim and product PO
  • Create and maintain HTS Codes and EAN barcode information
  • Create and maintain technical section of the supplier manual
  • Check invoices and proformas against PO’s and OC’s
  • Critical path management. Own and drive seasonal critical path across ALL departments
  • Understand international freight and duties to support Logistics Admin
  • Manage and coach Logistics Admin on all logistics related matter

Skills & Experience:

  • A minmum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role for a premium womenswear brand
  • Must have local and international manufacturing experience
  • Experience in womenswear apparel and Accessories (Woven and Jersey - multi product)
  • Proficiency in MS office, with a strong emphasis on Excel
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Understanding of print design preferred but not essential
  • Excellent organisational and logistical skills
  • Strong planning, cost analysis and margin knowledge
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Excellent time management for self and team
  • Strategic mindset to assist in developing a focus on sustainability across all aspects of the production and sourcing process
  • Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of garment construction, patterns, tech packs, process and timelines, testing understanding a plus
  • The ability to maintain relationships across multi-functional departments and our global suppliers
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record and relevant experience with a womenswear fashion brand
  • Empathetic team player with excellent leadership, communication training, motivational and delegation skills
  • A drive and passion for quality is essential
  • Must be self-motivated and a hands-on team player with a positive attitude
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
