A fantastic new opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic Junior Designer/Assistant designer with commercial handwriting to join a leading UK supplier on Women and Girl's fast fashion in their London office.  As part of our team of established designers, the successful applicant will not only contribute to our creative process but also have the opportunity for significant career progression, making this role ideal for ambitious individuals

Main responsibilities will include:

• Researching the latest trends through blogs, Instagram, catwalks and magazines.
• Attending regular inspirational shopping trips to drive new ideas for the retailers.
• Developing trend boards and tech packs.
• Helping with day-to-day design requests.
• Assisting in designing seasonal capsule collections along with key shapes.
• Attend design/product meetings
• Support the team in organising notes/recaps and samples.

Person Specification

Required:

• Some experience designing across womenswear or girlswear.
• Fully computer literate in Illustrator and Photoshop on Mac.
• Excellent CAD skills
• A strong commercial portfolio showing an understanding of high street and fast fashion.
• Understanding of jersey fabrics and garment construction.
• Highly organised with a keen eye for details.
• Able to work under pressure
• Commercially savvy with excellent on-trend knowledge.

Beneficial:

• Graphic and print design sills are desirable
• Preferably, a degree

The Role:

• Permanent
• Full Time, Monday to Friday
• Office located in south west London
• Salary depending on experience
• One work from home day a week
