Our approach to marketing has a few defining characteristics – an obsession with our customers, belief in the power of creativity, an investment mindset, a ‘full funnel’ philosophy, and a belief in evidence-based decisions.
We reach our audience through various means to grow ASOS as a definitive fashion destination for 20-somethings around the world.

As a key part of our end-to-end customer experience management, ASOS marketing covers a breadth of tactics, stretching across loyalty marketing, culturally relevant brand content, pay-for-performance marketing, local trade marketing, broad reach advertising, and influencer marketing to name a few. We utilise several measurement practices, but primarily rely on continual controlled experiments as our primary ‘source of truth’ in measuring marketing investment return.

Content Team

The Content Team is a key department in ASOS, sitting within the wider Brand Experience team. The editorial team is responsible for producing a seamless content offering for our customers on social, on site and in email.

The Role

This role sits within the Content Team in ASOS’ head office in London. The Junior Editor is responsible for creating content across the ASOS site as well as on our CRM channels and will also deputise for the editor where necessary. You will work closely with the Editor and Strategic Sub-Editor to ensure the ASOS tone of voice is consistent across your own and other customer-facing ASOS channels, especially where copy is self-subbed, and will work with the Senior Content Manager to ensure all English language content is provided for translations in a timely manner.

What you’ll be doing...

  • Writing emails, homepage copy, SEO-optimised header and landing page copy, partnership content and other ad-hoc tasks for the ASOS site and CRM channels.
  •  Providing multi-territory English language copy for the UK, US and AU as well as (on occasions) other territories, ahead of that copy being translated.
  • Working with the Editor, occasionally taking the lead on editing copy from other more junior writers in the team, feeding back on behalf of the customer.
  • Support the wider team on prioritising the requests for copy from across the business.
  • Supporting the partnerships team with occasional bespoke requests that will require both ASOS and other brand sign-off.
  • Support the Trade Marketing team in providing trading content across homepages, emails, Push, and social media
  • Work with channel owners on developing an effective reporting structure across all content.
  • Ensure competitor research and customer insight are at the heart of all our output.

We’d love to meet someone with...

  • Working in a small team within the wider Content department, you will be a team player with an enthusiasm to actively support the editorial vision
  • You will also be a creative thinker who can turn copy around quickly and brilliantly, manage multiple projects and ensure that our voice is always spot-on.
  • You will be a fashion fanatic with an inexhaustible appetite for creating measurable content at scale.

Some key skills that you need...

  • Excellent copywriting skills – the ability to convey a message in short snappy headlines and sells.
  • Excellent English skills – the ability to understand concepts, contents and tone.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects to tight deadlines.
  • An understanding of the ASOS core customer and their shopping motivations.
  • Passion for digital content and an instinct for creating content with a multi-channel approach.
  • Understanding of online content for the fashion forward twenty-something audience.
  •  Passion for the brand.

There are loads of great things about working for ASOS, including:

  • Generous salary,
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Pension matching
  • Great development programmes
  • Amazing offices and great culture
  • 25 days holiday plus one extra day for your birthday
  • Subsidised gym and canteen
  • Huge staff discount and regular sample sales
  • Life Insurance, medical care, cycle to work scheme
  • And tonnes more…
