AYBL are looking for an in-house Junior Garment Technologist with knowledge across multiple products to support our Garment Technologist and Design Team in the creation and development of new and innovative products to ensure they are fit for purpose, and fit is consistent with the current product.
Within this role, you will report to our Garment Technologist to assist and support in a range of garment technologist-related work and take ownership of the organisation and day-to-day admin of the garment technology department.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Junior Garment Technologist:
Work closely with Garment Technologists and Designers to develop branded products that are fit for purpose
Create initial development size specifications based on Design CADs and inspiration
Measure samples ahead of fit sessions
Organise samples for fit sessions and assist during sessions, taking clear notes and images
Assist with product ranges, feeding back clear fit comments to suppliers
Chase fit samples and production/shipment samples
Review production/shipment samples to confirm they meet agreed standards of fit, quality, labelling and packaging
Support general day-to-day admin and organisation within the garment technology department, including fit samples, QC reports and fabric testing
Conduct wearer trials within the business and use feedback to inform product development
What AYBL is looking for:
A minimum of 1 year's experience in a Garment Technologist role
Degree in Garment Technology or similar
Good knowledge of multi-product fit across Womenswear and Menswear
Good knowledge of pattern cutting and grading
Good relevant knowledge of fabric/materials/components
Excellent attention to detail
Driven work ethic, taking ownership of your work/role
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Passionate about making a difference
Good organisational and planning skills
Interest in the fitness industry would be advantageous
