About: London based siblings Jade and Grant Goulden founded Jaded London in the summer of 2013. Inspired by global street style from East London to LA and Asia the creators set about designing their trend focused collections now adored by celebrities and a growing army of dedicated followers worldwide. The designers are continuously developing unique prints and sourcing innovative fabrics to ensure Jaded London is at the forefront of trend and design. The brand sells womenswear, menswear and swimwear. It is currently stocked at major global retailers such as ASOS, Urban Outfitters, Topshop and Topman as well as their own online store jadedldn.com.

We’re looking for an established Menswear Junior Designer to join our rapidly growing business. In this role, you’ll research and create new and innovative commercial ideas, creating mood boards, new prints and workbooks for factories for production.

What you will be doing:          

  • Working closely with the wider menswear design team to ensure an efficient workflow of designs, prints and sample production.
  • Assist and help research, produce clear and detailed technical sketches.
  • Assist in fittings, taking notes and updating technical sketches on illustrator.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the design identity in line with Jaded London, provide a sense of colours and details, deliver a high awareness of current trends.
  • Continually researches new and innovative commercial ideas on a continual basis through sources; Instagram, Depop, catwalk, research trips, etc.
  • Creates weekly ‘new in’ reports on a timely basis.
  • Works efficiently to create 20 ideas per day to be sketched on CAD via Adobe illustrator.
  • Demonstrates creativity in-line with the brand, creating print design mood boards with new ideas.
  • Creates new prints from scratch and sets up prints for production.
  • Makes a start on creating four workbooks a day for factories for production, to be passed to Designers.
  • Makes amends to sketches post fit sessions, updating the critical path with information from factories.
  • Supports the senior designer in all tasks as requested, including sourcing fabrics and trims.

Skill you will need:

  • As an already established Junior Menswear Designer, you’ll have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Photoshop & Illustrator.
  • Confidence and ability to work at pace, creating sketched CADs and technical drawings for factories, setting-up print placements for factories.
  • Ability to prioritise, managing multiple deadlines and heavy workloads to strict deadlines.
  • Confident and clear in presenting ranges to management
  • A problem solver, identifying issues immediately and addressing with manufacturers efficiently
  • Strong understating of the design process with the ability to translate trends into commercial graphic and print designs.
  • Trend-focused with an eye for detail
  • Flexible working approach, diligent and able to adapt to the needs of the team.
  • Great understanding of the Jaded London brand and customer 
  • Strong Team player and passionate for the brand and its success.
