We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Designer to join the shoe design team based here at the Head Office in London. This role reports directly into the Creative Director and is responsible for supporting the Creative Director and design team with designing and developing the collection. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Design and Research: 

  • Assist the Design team in researching design ideas following design brief and brand profiles
  • Sketch designs and provide technical drawings of details and variations when required
  • Develop Freehand and CAD sketching, collage and painting
  • Work with the Design team on CAD and graphics placement
  • Conduct material and colour research
  • Attend Trade Fairs as required
  • Contribute design ideas having conducted research and present these ideas confidently

Product Development: 

  • Work with suppliers and factories via written and personal visits
  • Communicate and coordinate with other teams (Accessories / Merchandising) on material and collection collaborations
  • Organise and set up technical sheets / documentation per collection
  • Manage selected supplier communications between London / product development office
  • To assist the Design team and document photo fitting and correction on design and constructions
  • Collaborate with other teams on style / detail / material development
  • Attend and contribute at the collection development meetings, factory/supplier visits
  • Collaborate with the team on Style/Detail/Material Development


  • Prepare design presentations with and for the team
  • Work closely with the Merchandising Team in building out collections
  • Attend design meetings, merchandising meeting and other relevant meetings related to design, product and commercial reporting as required

Key Areas: 

  • Support and assist the development of collections
  • Develop and execute technical drawings to support design ideas under instruction from the team
  • Administration of collection to sample stage (designated part of the collection)
  • Communicate and coordinate with teams (Merchandise and Accessory) to ensure collection collaboration

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree level education in fashion or shoes design or verifiable industry equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in the design of luxury Women’s footwear
  • Proven CAD experience for rendering of designs in various software programmes such as Illustrator, Photoshop and equivalent programmes
  • Demonstrable sense of taste and style
  • Excellent communication skills in person, via phone and email
  • Proven experience working on crystal embellishment, embroidery, and metal accessories.
  • Experience making 3d mock ups (uppers, heels)
  • Good at hand drawing
