About: Joan Burstein created Browns with her husband Sidney in 1970. Job Purpose:

The L&D Advisor’s role is to inspire and engage our people with personal development and the learning needed to achieve our Mission of becoming the Coolest Multi Channel Boutique in the World. Also, using the tools and approach of a fashion influencer, they will engage our people through all internal channels of communication and best in class learning solutions.
 
The Day Job:

  • Facilitate engaging and insightful learning to Browns Head Office teams.
  • Drive audience engagement with the creation or curation of Bitesized and Social learning, through regular and targeted content via internal social platform (Workplace – by Facebook) and all communication channels.
  • Oversee and facilitate the onboarding of all new starters at Browns, with our new (in-development now) and revolutionary blended induction programme.
  • Support the Mentors that underpin our learning programmes in Head Office:
  • Holding Monthly Mentor Meetings – including facilitating any Mentor Skills training
  • Being the go-to for Mentors needing support
  • Maintaining programme content integrity – checking everything is current
  • Ensure the training room bookings and attendance for sessions held in Head Office are managed.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure initiatives targeted at Head Office staff that involve learning are supported and land effectively.
  • Engage the business with Social Learning – finding subject matter experts and supporting them to deliver learning that is effective.

 
Key Projects Coming:

Hello (Induction – Day 1)

  • Collaborate on Induction/ Onboarding experience design
  • Share production of any classroom or digital content
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure content is accurate and effective

Longboarding (Onboarding programme – Day 2-90)

  • Develop, test and roll out content to Longboarding App for Head Office audience
  • Maintain the content and programme for Head Office audience
  • Develop, test and roll out learning content for Management audience (early 2019)
  • Management Learning and Development Programmes
  • Scope, develop and deliver, in collaboration with wider L&D team and People team, blended and targeted campaigns of Management Learning (for managers in Head Office and Retail)
  • Work in collaboration with L&D Partner to design and deliver Browns’ in-house Management Development programme (early 2019)
  • Wellness
  • Work in collaboration with People Partner to coordinate and embed a regular offering of Wellness related learning opportunities.

 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience working in fashion and/or retail environment in Learning & Development and/or internal communications.
  • Excellent writing skills to create high impact and inspiring communication materials for our people.
  • Positive attitude, consistently embodying our values: Be Revolutionary, Be Brilliant, Be Human, Todos Juntos, Think Global and Amaze Customers.
  • Strong relationship building skills with ability to influence others.
  • Natural presenter, with a passion for delivery and facilitation of learning.
  • Ability to bring new creative learning and development ideas to the table.
  • Curious by nature and always keen to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Well organised and flexible with ability to work under pressure, handling competing priorities and responding to matters with urgency.
  • Advanced skills and experience with Microsoft Office tools, in particular MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
  • Some exposure to use of tools such as photography (to Instagram worthy quality) and video (not movie but short clip work) would be handy!
  • Someone building their career in Learning and Development that wants to be part of a brand-new team that are going to change the world of L&D forever!
