Menswear Designer

Type of Position: Freelance Job
Company / Organisation / Artist Name: Studio Clint
Location: London, UK
Hours: Flexible
Experience: 1 to 2 years
Reporting To: CEO & Founders
Deadline: Ongoing
Ad Expires In: 1 month 1 week
About: Studio Clint is a London based menswear brand built around elevated, classic garments. Our roots draw from the Americana dream, reinterpreted through a European lens for a more easy going, considered way of dressing. Our design principles are built on a careless but considered style: good quality, well made garments that are simple in design and versatile in use, meant to be worn as part of an everyday rotation.

We are founder led, small, and moving fast, and we are now looking for a co-founder to join us in building the next chapter of the brand.

Studio Clint is looking for a Menswear Designer to work closely with the Founders on developing the core collection — casual elegance at the core, built to last beyond a single season rather than chase one.

The successful applicant will support design development from concept through to tech pack and fit, working directly with our European manufacturing partner.
This is a genuine seat at the table, not a support role buried in a large team. You'll see how a considered brand gets built, from first sketch to shipped garment.

What the Menswear Designer will do:

  • Support seasonal collection development, working from a clear brand point of view rather than trend decks
  • Help design and refine garments across shirting, denim, knitwear and outerwear
  • Produce clear, accurate design illustrations using CAD and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator for our production partners to work from
  • Build and maintain tech packs: spec sheets, grading, construction detail, trims and fabric sourcing
  • Assist with sampling and fit sessions, adjusting patterns as needed to achieve the desired fit
  • Research fabrics and trims that fit our quality and cost parameters
  • Help extend existing product ideas sideways — new colours, materials or applications of pieces that are already working, rather than one-off novelty
  • Support the founders on range planning and merchandising decisions

What Studio Clint is looking for:

  • At least 1 year's design experience in menswear.
  • Proficient with CAD design, including Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Able to produce clear, production-ready illustrations for our manufacturing partners
  • Comfortable with tech packs, spec sheets and construction details
  • Able to interpret and adjust patterns to achieve the desired fit
  • A portfolio that shows attention to fit, fabric and finish — not just concept boards
  • Genuine interest in building things that last, rather than churning seasonal trend pieces
  • Comfortable in a small team where you'll do a bit of everything, not just one narrow function
  • Based in or able to work from London regularly
  • Pattern cutting experience is a plus
