About: Belstaff is a global luxury lifestyle brand steeped in its unique British heritage and the spirit of adventure. In Belstaff, the fearless explorer and fashion enthusiast alike can discover an easy yet refined luxury for a modern lifestyle influenced by Belstaff's rich history and storied archives.

Founded in 1924, in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire England, with the innovation of the first water resistant wax cotton, Belstaff quickly became embraced by a group relishing the freedom and daring that the fabrics allowed. Over the years, the great and the good have worn the brand from historical titans T.E. Lawrence, Amelia Earhart and Che Guevara to more modern names like David Beckham, Jemma Kidd, Sarah Jessica Parker and British trial racer Sammy Miller. Belstaff’s classic belted 4-pocket jacket became an instantly recognizable stable for the racing set throughout the 20th Century.

Belstaff was created by and for independent spirits. We know that what we do, and who we do it with matters. Join the team and make an impact as we build a legacy that surpasses our incredible past.

Love The Challenge. Find A Way. Go All In. Stand Together. Be The Difference.

A bit about Belstaff

Belstaff is a functional clothing brand founded to move people forward. Throughout our history we have championed material innovation, collaborating with those who challenge the ordinary and celebrate the joy of the journey. Belstaff has designed protective suits for race-car drivers, windproof smocks for Marines and insulating clothing for mountaineers. One thing is at the heart of all these endeavours: An Independent Spirit. Today, this energy prevails and unites the people who bring the Belstaff brand to life, providing the best products to our customers – both old and new. We are committed to building a team of curious, conscious individuals dedicated to showing up, standing together, and being the difference between a good day and a great day.

Belstaff is looking for a Merchandiser to join the team in London.

Establish and lead the Branch Merchandising function within the Belstaff Merchandising Team, improving processes and delivering key KPIs across the DTC channels (Full Price Stores, eCommerce Warehouse and Outlets), while driving sales, profit and margin through effective planning and trading.

Responsibilities of the Merchandiser

Strategy & Trading:

  • Develop the department and category strategy, growing sales and profit across all channels through effective planning and trading.
  • Analyse current, past and market performance to identify risks and opportunities, proposing adjustments to financial plans, OTB and on-order to optimise margin and sales.
  • Deliver a balanced option framework by channel; control stock within planned levels and agreed markdown targets, maximising sales through availability by size.

Branch Merchandising & Planning:

  • Introduce best-practice Merchandising processes, KPIs and reporting, working with Visual Merchandising and Retail on floor/stockroom capacities and Option/SKU counts.
  • Work with Collection Merchandising on initial allocation quantities, store capacities and seasonal floor sets; manage New Season launches with the MAA and Production teams.
  • Manage Line Cards and WSSI.
  • Review initial and replenishment allocations, inter-store/warehouse transfers, and min/max Continuity levels with the allocation team; provide the warehouse with movement forecasts.
  • Plan End of Season and promotional stock builds and Outlet uplifts, transferring discontinued Full Price stock to Outlets and reviewing Outlet packages against budget and promo calendar.

People & Communication:

  • Act as the bridge between Merchandising, Retail and eCommerce, building relationships through regular store visits and an effective store-feedback process.
  • Manage and develop the team — setting direction and objectives, driving high performance, and coaching and mentoring to realise individual potential.

What Belstaff is looking for:

  • Experience as a Merchandiser or established Junior Merchandiser
  • Proven track record of delivering and exceeding sales and margin targets, embedding robust processes, and leading an allocation team.
  • Advanced Excel with strong numerical and analytical skills, able to translate merchandising data into clear strategic and tactical actions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-influencing skills; highly organised, with strong prioritisation, project-management and multitasking ability.
  • Commercial, analytical and collaborative; personable and calm under pressure; detail-oriented, solutions-focused, adaptable, innovative, and passionate about the Belstaff brand.
  • Merchandising experience within an omnichannel RTW apparel brand is a plus.

The Merchandier may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you by the Company from time to time.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We will not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, marital status, disability, age, sexual orientation or religion. We are committed to a fair and accessible recruitment process for all candidates so if you would like us to make any adjustments to the application or interview process, please let us know and we will be happy to support you.
