As part of the Brand Communication function you will be working alongside Marketing, Graphics and E-commerce as a key member of the PR team, responsible for delivering the company brand communication objectives. You will act as a guardian and ambassador for the brand at all times, planning and implementing a wide range of superior PR activities that deliver to the global brand vision for Ted Baker.

In addition, you also will be responsible for the management and development of junior team members in the PR team.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Press Office Coordination 
  • Building strong relationships with all target/relevant media, in order to obtain the maximum quality press coverage for all Ted Baker collections and ensure appropriate product placement within each publication including: 
  • Timely creation of press releases for all collections and promotions 
  • Proactively informing press of new samples, collections, events and themes 
  • Awareness of the different collections for each season, their target market and match to appropriate media 
  • Support the delivery each seasonal look book shoot, taking responsibility for the delivery of key elements as appropriate 
  • Evaluate all press coverage 
  • Event Coordination 
  • Support the delivery of bi-annual press days to showcase the collections to the media, taking responsibility for the delivery of key elements as appropriate 
  • Support the delivery of bi-annual national reader events in store 
  • Support the delivery of all PR related activities and events both in and out of store (regional, national and international) when required 
  • Evaluate events against commercial and communication objectives as required

Tools of the Trade 

  • A PR qualification and/or experience working in an in-house or agency PR role 
  • Organised and efficient with 'can do' proactive attitude 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Established contacts in the fashion/lifestyle industry 
  • Proven budget and project management skills 
  • To have a sound working knowledge of IT packages - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop and Outlook

  • Thorough understanding of Ted's product offering, attending all collection handovers and best seller meetings as required 
  • Thorough understanding of Ted's global retailing environment, formally visiting a minimum of one of each of the following on a monthly basis and reporting back findings: o Standalone store o Concession o Multiple wholesale partner o Independent wholesale partner as allocated via the formal monthly Contemporary Report 
  • Excellent understanding of the market & competitive environment 
  • Awareness and internal communication of innovative developments within the fashion, media and entertainment industry of potential relevance to the business 
  • Awareness and internal communication of all new communication channels - press, broadcast and digital media 
  • Monthly monitoring of Ted's key contemporaries as allocated via the formal monthly Contemporary Report

Team Working:

  • Support the PR team to deliver brand communication objectives 
  • Attend and contribute to weekly team updates

Project & Budget Accountability:

  • Be accountable for the timely delivery of projects and management of associated budgets 
  • Ensure that all allocated projects and activities have a written plan which outlines 
  • Objectives, strategy, tactics, timings, budget, and measures of success 
  • Evaluate all allocated projects against success criteria generating an activity evaluation report that summarises 
  • Delivery, outcomes, expenditure, associated revenues, transaction values, footfalls, return on investment
