FERAL is looking for a Product Development & Production Assistant to join the team in Brighton.
This is FERAL's first dedicated hire in product development and production. This is an entry-level role, but not a small role. Right now, this side of the business is run between the founder and our management team, and we're looking for the person who'll take it on and grow it into something much bigger.
We're not after experience. We're after the right competency and passion, someone who can grow into owning our production and design end-to-end and take it to another level.
The Product Development & Production Assistant will use their degree from day one. This is real product development work: pattern making, garment construction, tech packs, sampling and sourcing. The technical craft you studied is exactly what we need.
Because we're small and moving fast, the Product Development & Production Assistant will also get to know the whole business, from how a product is developed to how it's made, checked and shipped to customers in 45+ countries.
What the Product Development & Production Assistant will work on…
The craft (from day one):
- Pattern making and garment construction
- Tech packs, measurements and product specs
- Researching and sourcing fabrics and trims
- Developing new products from concept to sample to launch
- Reviewing and quality checking samples
- Production planning and supplier communication
- Working directly with the founder and team to bring new ideas to life
The wider role:
- Quality checking garments before they reach customers
- Helping fulfil, check and dispatch orders as we scale
- Receiving and checking incoming stock
- Keeping the product organised and moving
- Spotting problems early and helping improve our systems as we grow
What Feral is looking for…
Required:
- Studied fashion design, production, textiles or product development.
- Notice the small details, the loose thread or the wrong measurement before anyone else.
- Organised and like keeping things moving.
- Not precious about getting hands-on.
- Want real responsibility and ownership, not a job to clock in and out of.
- Move fast and can figure things out without someone standing over you.
Bonus:
- Pattern making or garment construction skills.
- Experience with tech packs, sampling or QC.
- An understanding of imports, exports or customs paperwork.
- Experience with Shopify or fulfilment platforms.
