About: Established in 2008, the designer RTW label Emilia Wickstead has become the epitome of modern femininity. Known for her modern silhouettes and strong colour use, the techniques she utilises serve to create clothes that effortlessly combine traditional with contemporary with an insistence on quality and a clear point of distinction.
Originally commencing as a made-to-measure atelier, Emilia’s collections are currently seasonal ready-to-wear and have been showcased at London Fashion Week since SS12.
Her collections are held in some of the most prestigious stockists in the world, including Net-A-Porter, Selfridges, Harrods, Matches, and Moda Operandi to name a few, alongside her flagship store which opened in 2014 on London’s Sloane Street.
Emilia Wickstead is looking for a Production Gerber Pattern Cutter to work across multiple product categories and seasons throughout the calendar year, developing, finalising, and checking patterns to go into bulk production. The successful applicant will work closely with the designers, garment technologists and machinists, communicating clearly and efficiently and ensuring all patterns have the desired fit, finishing and specification requested.
Suitable applicants will have experience working within a fast-paced environment, closely following the production critical paths, ensuring deadlines are met to transfer patterns to be graded for pre-production and manufacturer for bulk production.
Key areas of responsibility:
Seal patterns in line with the approved amendments after seasonal production fittings.
Working confidently with our EW blocks to ensure consistency of sizing and fit across all product categories
Ensuring all sealed patterns are produced and finalised to the required fit and measurement standards
Creative pattern cutting, starting from block to rework show patterns according to production requirements
Participate in weekly size 12 PPS fittings and seasonal production fittings
Undertake necessary final pattern amendments before sealing the pattern to bulk production
Ensure all pattern measurements are taken accurately and updated in the spec sheet
Complete and approve grade charts for production
Work closely with our external grader to pass over key information relevant to each style and assist grader with support where needed
Liaise with our Production and QC Teams to resolve any pattern-related production issues
The Candidate:
Gerber trained
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in womenswear multi-product pattern making
Ability to work from spec sheet comments and follow through with each action point to finalise patterns for grading and bulk production.
Basic grading knowledge and about grading increments
Excellent understanding of fit and garment construction from a development and factory perspective
Accustomed to working to tight deadlines and being able to multitask across changing priorities
Flexibility required at peak times to manage workload
A team player with great interpersonal skills
Clear and concise communicator
Experience of working within Microsoft Office
Experience in a RTW studio at a luxury label is beneficial
