About: Canadian-British, London-based Edeline Lee graduated with a first from Central Saint Martins womenswear and apprenticed in the studios of Alexander McQueen and John Galliano before working at Zac Posen in New York and as Head Designer for Rodnik in London. An unintentional soft launch led to a flurry of private orders and the birth of her eponymous collection in 2014. Her work has since been worn by the likes of Alicia Vikander, Olivia Colman, Helen Mirren, Phoebe Waller Bridge, Taylor Swift and Solange Knowles. 

Spring Summer 2016 was her debut season on the official London Fashion Week schedule of the British Fashion Council. All Edeline Lee pieces are made by hand in England.

We are seeking experienced machinists to work in a luxury east London designer workroom, sewing Women’s Ready to Wear garments on an industrial automatic or flatbed machine.   You will be involved in the manufacturing and final preparation of garments before they go to retail.  You will work closely with Pattern Cutters and Production and Studio Managers to ensure that high production standards are met.  You will also be sewing garments for VIP and fashion show collections. It is essential that you work with speed and accuracy.  This role requires a candidate who is proactive and calm, even when working under pressure.   

Currently, because of Covid-19, the business operating hours are Monday – Friday, 9am - 7pm or 10am – 8pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experienced in making garments with high end luxury finishing techniques and sewing skills, including hand sewing
  • Working with a variety of fabrics such as silks, chiffons, georgettes, organza, cotton and wool.
  • Measuring products throughout the production process to ensure the finished product is accurate and up to a specific standard as checked by our quality control examiners.
  • Putting garments together using various sewing machines. –eg. lockstitch, overlocker, binding, felling, buttons and buttonholes.
  • Ability to read and interpret patterns and accurately work with measurements 
  • Resolving any issues with the make-up of garments 
  • Achieve finished garments made and to the highest quality 
  • Working to deadline to ensure the garments are ready on time 
  • Additional elements to the role can range from sample production each season through to web customer requested alterations.


  • Experience operating industrial sewing machines and overlockers
  • Willing to work hard to fulfil the company's needs 
  • Excellent understanding of garment design 
  • Initiative with a good eye for detail. 
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure 
  • Personable and dependable team player 
  • Great verbal communication skills
