About: Founded in Nottingham in the 1970’s, the Paul Smith collections have become internationally recognised and Paul Smith is one of Britain’s most renowned and successful designers. Up until the age of 16, Paul had wanted to be a professional cyclist, but a serious accident set him on a different path. Once out of hospital Paul fell in with a group of art students. They talked constantly about art, architecture and design and Paul found himself longing to be part of that exciting world. From its origins in one small shop in Nottingham in 1970, Paul Smith has grown into a global business, selling in six continents. Comprising of complete clothing, shoe and accessory collections for men, women and children; representation is further extended by associated product licenses where the potential of the brand has been recognised by key licensees in the fragrance, eyewear and interior businesses.

Paul Smith is one of Britain’s leading independent design companies, driven by a spirit of curiosity, playfulness, adaptability and passion. These values shape every aspect of the brand, whether it’s a shirt, a shop or a special collaboration. Reaffirming the values that Paul set down in 1970, ‘classic with a twist’ remains the guiding principle of the company. Happily positioned between high fashion and formalwear, while taking reference from both, Paul Smith has always been proud to stand apart.

We have a rare opportunity for a Retail Interior Designer to join our Shop Design team in London. • Assist with the design of refurbishments and changes to existing shops, including briefing the manufacturers, supervising installation, and resolving any problems following completion.
  • Oversee multiple projects from start to finish at any one time, working with external Project Managers, Consultants and Contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Attend site meetings when required, take notes and feedback to the wider team on the progress of projects.
  • Work on the design of new in-store furniture, fixtures and fittings, producing high-quality detailed drawings and working closely with manufacturers to ensure specifications and quality requirements are met, and delivery and installation are achieved within the specified timescale.
