The OWN Studio seeks an experienced, highly skilled freelance Sample Cutter to join the team in Shoreditch, London.

Working within a fast-paced, detail-driven environment, the Sample Cutter will play a key role in supporting the development of bridal collections to the highest standards. 

Key Responsibilities of the Sample Cutter:

• Work closely with machinists, pattern cutters, Atelier Manager & Product Development Manager to bring luxury bridal and eveningwear collections and Bespoke client work to life with precision and craftsmanship.
• Execute immaculate cutting standards across both development toiles and final samples, ensuring exceptional accuracy and consistency throughout.
• Confidently handle and cut a wide range of delicate and luxury fabrics, including silk, satin, duchesse, chiffon, taffeta, organza, crepe, silk mikado, lace, sequins, and placement prints.
• Demonstrate a refined understanding of fabric behaviour, grain, drape, and construction, particularly when working with lace and directional fabrics.
• Ensure precise pattern placement and fabric matching, maintaining the visual integrity and balance of each garment.
• Accurately measure, prepare, and lay fabrics with a meticulous eye for detail and minimal wastage.
• Optimise fabric usage and carefully record fabric consumption and ratings for the Atelier Manager.
• Uphold the exceptional standards expected within a luxury bridal couture environment at all times.

What The OWN Studio is looking for:

• At least 5 years' relevant experience within bridal or luxury as a sample cutter.
• A positive, calm, proactive attitude. 
• Highly detail-oriented and efficient.
