Christine Elizabeth, an independent fashion textile designer preparing a debut six-look womenswear collection for presentation during London Fashion Week, seeks an experienced sample machinist with strong technical skills in woven garments to help bring my collection to life.

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate on a high-quality, design-led collection. I am looking for someone who takes pride in precision sewing, garment construction, and producing finished samples.

Key Responsibilities of the Sample Machinist:

• Construct first samples from patterns and technical instructions 
• Sew high-quality woven garments with excellent attention to detail
• Produce accurate finishes suitable for presentation and fittings
• Work closely with the designer to refine garment construction and fit
• Meet agreed production deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality

What Christine Elizabeth is looking for…

Required:

• Proven experience as a sample machinist in womenswear 
• Strong experience sewing woven fabrics 
• Excellent knowledge of garment construction and finishing techniques 
• Ability to accurately follow patterns, specifications and design instructions 
• High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
• Reliable, organised, and able to work independently 

Desirable:

• Experience working with independent or luxury fashion brands
• Knowledge of couture or premium finishing techniques 
• Ability to contribute practical construction solutions during the sampling process
