My client is a successful manufacturer of high quality Ladies smart tailoring, a new position has opened up within the team for an experienced senior buyer / stock controller. The ideal person will be maintaining stock control for all items across all locations both UK and overseas.

Senior Buyer/Stock Controller- The Role:

• Collating material requirements for all production styles (all customers)
• Placing bulk purchase orders for materials
• Maintaining stock control for all items in all locations (inhouse / global / warehouse / all factories)
• Managing material transactions - ensuring excess materials sent out are used where possible on other styles
• Supplying summaries / pick sheets for each component for each style - for example labels & tickets / polybags / hangers
• Maintaining summary of lining orders + calling off required production quantities to factories - grouping shipments to optimise carriage charges
• Setting up and maintaining buying file templates for each customer with accurate material prices
• Setting up new customers - determining all trim pack item requirements + modifying buying file template to suit needs
• Controlling trim shortages - ensuring all materials are sent out
• Checking and signing invoices - ensuring delivery notes are matched + prices / quantities are correct + recording po's which are invoiced + resolving disputes
• Ensuring all direct delivery costs are recorded on buying files
• Dealing with day-to-day issues from factories / global
• Dealing with material issues arising from changes to BOMS / changed / cancelled orders
• Producing production orders (dockets) for each style / factory, ensuring accurate cut figures are given and information is given for each item on the BOM to show where / when stock is allocated from or sent to factory.
• Producing pro forma invoices for goods which are being shipped direct to factories / warehouse
• Co-ordinate with trim buyers and production planning/export dept-ensuring coordination of buying processes
• Plastic packaging tax - control of transaction certificates & annual scope certificates - submitting to customers when requested

Senior Buyer/Stock Controller – The Person:

• Proven experience within a similar role.
• A detailed understanding of the purchasing, supply chain, sourcing management process for the clothing/apparel market is essential.
• Extensive purchasing/supply chain management experience at senior managerial position.
• Confident knowledge of the manufacturing process involved in bringing garments & accessories into the UK from Europe
• Must have experience working with factories in Europe and understand the complexity of issues which can arise.
• Highly competent communication skills, ability to work with internal and external teams, suppliers, factories and customers.
• Work well under pressure and demonstrate commercial judgement.
• Excellent planning, negotiation and organisation skills, highly attentive to detail.
• Ability to lead/mentor teams; manage teams to improve efficient and effective management of the supply chain.
