About: FANBOD is a new womenswear label, playfully reclaiming the female form as a source of power, not punishment. Founded by designer Fan Yu Shih, FANBOD’s debut collection is a love letter to the body in all its forms, as well as a challenge to anyone who tries to diminish those forms. Born in Taiwan, raised in Singapore, and based in London, Fan is committed to making clothes that give confidence to the millions of women across the globe who are increasingly pushing back against impossible beauty ideals.
FANBOD is a wholly inclusive brand that’s as much about finally coming home to your body as it is about finding practical, comfortable solutions to everyday – and out of the everyday.
FANBOD is entering an expansive new creative chapter, and we’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Creative Designer with at least 10 years' experience to help shape our new direction and lead the design and development of our womenswear collections.
Our evolving aesthetic centres on confident, sensual dressing: fluid silhouettes, expressive colour, considered fabric combinations and distinctive details. From occasion dresses to sculpted separates, we’re building a collection with a clear identity, combining creative ambition with thoughtful construction and commercial relevance.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in defining the brand’s design language, working closely with the Founder, Junior Designer and Product Director.
The role is a retained consultancy equivalent to 8-12 days/month, with the potential to become full-time in 2027.
The role of Senior Creative Designer:
Develop and refine FANBOD’s new creative direction through seasonal concepts, research, mood boards, colour palettes and design development.
Develop collection proposals and range plans with the Founder and Product Director, balancing statement pieces with versatile, commercial styles.
Design across womenswear categories, considering silhouette, proportion, fit, internal garment construction and how pieces work together cohesively.
Lead fabric and trim selection, sourcing premium materials that suit each design, budget and development timeline.
Explore fabric combinations, lace, surface details, embellishment and statement hardware to create a distinctive collection.
Produce sketches and technical CADs, and oversee accurate, supplier-ready tech packs and bills of materials (BOMs) within Zedonk Studio with the support of the Junior Designer and Product Director.
Work closely with pattern cutters, technical specialists, seamstresses and factories to translate designs into flawless samples.
Attend fittings, assess samples and communicate clear technical/design corrections, protecting the original concept through development.
Work with the Product Director on feasibility, costing and critical path deadlines, adapting designs when needed.
Guide the Junior Designer and oversee the quality and consistency of all design documentation.
What FANBOD is looking for:
At least 10 years' experience designing contemporary or premium luxury womenswear, with an outstanding portfolio showing strong creative thinking, technical CADs and finished production garments.
The proven ability to help establish a brand’s creative identity and translate it into a cohesive, commercially viable collection.
A confident eye for silhouette, proportion, colour and fabric, with an affinity for sensual, expressive womenswear.
Advanced knowledge of garment construction, tailoring and fit, including fluid fabrics, stretch/powernet, tailoring, lace and structured elements.
Highly skilled in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, creating detailed technical CADs, with solid experience in tech pack creation and PLM platforms (Zedonk preferred).
Comfortable taking ownership, presenting ideas and working collaboratively in an agile, growing luxury house.
Organised, practical and able to move designs forward decisively against Critical Path deadlines.
