Union Supply Co is looking for an experienced Senior Merchandiser, Account Manager, or Buyer to join the team in Manchester, working across in-house brands as a Senior Development & Merchandising Manager.

Reporting to the Directors, the Senior Development & Merchandising Manager will play a pivotal role as a key team member to join the Union Supply Co family.  Working with an existing team of three Account Managers, the successful applicant will working with a team of four designers, two garment techs, one senior product developer, two senior merchanisers and one merchandiser as the wider team, outside of logistics / finance, etc.  A buying / merchandising administrator may be added to the team depending depending on the background the this hire.

Suitable applicants will have a solid core knolwedge and experience that suits us and our brands; however, at Union Supply Co, we appreciate everyone has different skillsets and the team at Union can support any less strong areas.  Therefore, the brand mix the Senior Development & Merchandising Manager will be working on will be dependent successful applicant's experience and skills.

What the Senior Development & Merchandising Manager will do:

  • Nurture and manage various inhouse and 3rd party customer accounts from concept to delivery.
  • Engage with customers / internal stakeholders to hold regular meetings, take seasonal briefs and maintain / grow current business.
  • Work with design and tech team to create concept to be presented to customers / internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee production of collection and brief out to supply base in conjunction with design and tech teams, while controlling CP for seasonal development.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers.
  • Monitor and manage sample trackers / sample development leadtimes.
  • Present collections to customers in conjunction with directors / design team.
  • Place POs and manage Order Summary.
  • Maintain and manage CP with regular communication with suppliers and customers on a weekly basis.
  • Carry out product review meetings with directors, design and tech teams on a daily / weekly basis.
  • Ensure goods are made to required Union Supply or customer standards alongside tech team with regards to factory audits, compliance, product testing, AQL reports etc.
  • Working with logistics team to ensure packing lists, shipping schedules, product approvals are in place and correct.
  • Nurturing and managing supply base to balance production volumes and brands between supply base to maximise efficiency and skill across supply base.

When in relation to in-house brands (in addition to above):

  • Managing CP from concept to delivery.
  • Manage internal meetings to keep development cycle on track with design / tech team / directors / sales.
  • Manage option count per collection based on historical data / planned growth.
  • Manage factory base and liaise with design team for development of fabrics / fits ahead of development / production.
  • Liaise with Design / Marketing teams to produce sales literature / imagery on time for seasonal launches.
  • Running Free To Sell reports and sharing on weekly basis with sales team.
  • Monitoring web and wholesale volumes / sales / trends and trading accordingly with top up stock / analytics relating to seasonal planning.
  • Liaise with sales team on weekly basis. 
  • Building relationships is vital to this role, whether with internal team, supplier side or with customers.
  • Managing multiple projects is key so any applicant must have exceptional management skills and an eye for detail.
