We are looking for a Senior Knitwear Designer to join us on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, starting ASAP.

Our Design team are at the core of our business, creating the mood, colour palette, prints and key shapes of our collection each season that offer our Phase Eight customer a point of difference. We are seeking a Senior Designer with contemporary handwriting skills to ensure the balance of commerciality and fashion is met across our Knitwear category.

Reporting into the Head of Design and partnering with the wider Design team you will demonstrate the ability to elevate and move our brand forward within our knitwear offering across tops, dresses, skirts and coats.

Key accountabilities include;

  • Managing our knitwear product from design development to production partnering closely with our Buying and Garment Technology teams and working with Far East and European suppliers to resolve costing and production issues
  • Delivering a high-quality knitwear offering, researching and creating a contemporary products for our Phase Eight customer
  • Actively researching and maintaining a detailed knowledge of competitor brands within our space
  • Partnering with the wider design to pull together and present seasonal themes and colour palettes

About You

We are looking for an individual who possesses previous knowledge of knitwear design across smart and casual, classic and novelty. We will need you to have an acute awareness of seasonal trends and the gravitas to passionately present collections at meetings, collection launches and team presentations as a poised ambassador of our Phase Eight brand. We will need you to demonstrate technical knowledge of knitwear design having delivered collections within a luxury/fashion brand previously. Strong communication skills with an appetite to embrace a blended approach of working across our Phase Eight brand is also important.
