People Marketing's client is looking for a Senior Product Developer to own their full product lifecycle in Watford.
As the technical backbone of the development process, the Senior Product Developer will work hands-on with factories, fabrics, and fit to bring commercially viable, production-ready product to life—from design handover through to shipment samples—across their global lines.
This is a role for someone who loves the craft: pattern cutting, construction, fabric development, and problem-solving under a tight critical path — while building strong relationships with suppliers along the way.
This role is 4-5 days in the office in Watford – the Senior Product Developer will be managing a team.
Senior Product Developer (Sports and Lifestyle) – The Role:
- Managing the product lifecycle from tech pack review through to SMS and shipment samples
- Leading fit sessions from proto through to final approval, ensuring fit, quality, and construction meet brand standards
- Approving fabrics, trims, lab dips, and materials, and resolving issues with suppliers directly
- Owning the critical path — tracking samples, approvals, and production, and flagging risks early
- Maintaining technical packs, size charts, construction standards, and testing manuals
- Overseeing wash and fabric performance testing to catch issues early
- Working closely with design, production, and sourcing teams, and supporting range reviews and presentations
- Mentoring junior team members and sharing best practice across the team
Senior Product Developer (Sports and Lifestyle) – The Person:
- Solid experience in Fashion/Apparel
- In-depth knowledge of garment construction and a good understanding of pattern cutting
- A strong background in fit, fabric development, finishes, and construction detail
- Experience working within a wholesale business model
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- A sharp eye for detail and a genuine passion for product
- UK-based with a Full & Permanent Right To Work
