The Social Media Executive is responsible for supporting the strategic management of key social media channels for River Island, across all divisions. This includes the execution of social media campaigns, supporting and overseeing the BAU running of River Island’s social media channels, contributing to the overall social media organic strategy, and supporting the wider business.
Key Accountabilities:
Supporting the Senior Social Media Manager in defining an optimised and reactive channel and content strategy with a focus on brand awareness, engagement and follower growth.
Supporting the Senior Social Media Manager with the organic content calendar. Coordinate the scheduling and publishing of content across all social channels including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and YouTube.
Assist the content team with the creative input, delivery, and brief of seasonal and category marketing campaigns for River Island.
Work closely with Content and Brand team to develop and amplify customer experience across content serialisation, channel plans and campaign activity. Play a key part in campaign ideation brainstorms as social expert, feeding back into own social channel plans.
Act as key driver of social innovation for responsible channels. Maintain relationships with platform partners and actively seek out beta tests and new feature opportunities. Analyse and recommend ways to respond to relevant customer and landscape trends on an ongoing basis.
Measure, monitor and report on social media activities for key reports. Develop recommendations for how these insights can be used to inform campaign planning, optimisation and success for future activity.
Support Senior Social Media Marketing Manager on delivery of social strategy, synchronised with overall business goals.
Ability to ideate and create relevant and on-brand content that engages existing and new audiences.
Capture meaningful content at relevant opportunities, such as events and press days.
Create a social-first and strategic culture among the team. This includes hosting creative reviews, competitor analysis, and maintaining knowledge of new and emerging technologies and approaches to social media.
Community Management: Ensure regular communication with our audiences to build brand trust and loyalty including promoting key campaigns.
Work collaboratively with other teams/departments (e.g. Brand, Creative, Trading, Finance and eCommerce) to ensure collective and cohesive campaign execution.
Requirements:
At least 2 years' experience working on growing and managing social channels with a focus on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook
A creative thinker, able to interpret brand aesthetic and ensure content and creatives remain on brand across customer channels
Can work under pressure, with the ability to be reactive and flexible in a fast-paced environment
Experience of working to KPIs and targets, and the ability to interpret numbers and data into actionable insights and learnings
Confident in using Scheduling tools, Google Analytics and Facebook Business Manager
Excellent English, written and verbal communication skills.
Strong collaboration skills and marketing knowledge; you know how to negotiate effectively to manage expectations, deliver design within best practice guidelines and to achieve best results
Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities
Detail-oriented, commercially minded, results-driven driven and motivated
Understanding of SEO copy is a plus
