Operating from our London studios in the heart of Hackney our team includes Product Coordinators, Photography, Video and Retouch, each with a department lead. We run a smooth and well established system of operations working several large client accounts simultaneously.

We are looking for a Studio Assistant to join our production team. We are offering the position at a junior level with the view to training the successful applicant to the requirements of the LRP Studios. 

This job is perfect for a photography graduate who is passionate about starting their career in London. Please note this is not a photography assistant role and there will be minimal assisting. The role is very much in line with studio production assisting so please read the job description carefully.

This is a contractual position with the hours of 9am to 6pm with an hour lunch break.  Some shoot days require early starts and late finishes.

The main duties and skills will require:

  • The daily organisation of LRP Studio spaces to facilitate our photography and video productions
  • Assisting the LRP production team with the arrival, storage, allocation and return of products to clients via courier systems
  • Equipment maintenance and liaison with repair, purchase and hire centres
  • Having full knowledge and responsibility for the location of all photography, digital and lighting equipment in the studio
  • Daily studio cleanliness and tidiness including daily dusting, hoovering and mopping of the studios and cleaning kitchens and bathrooms
  • Completing all LRP Covid safety cleaning requirements
  • Receiving clients on arrival and showing them to their shoot space when required
  • Arranging shoot lunches and ensuring all studios are well stocked with drinks and snacks
  • General studio tasks, and cove painting

Skills / Experience required

  • Proven experience working in a photographic studio environment
  • Ability and energy to work in a fast-paced studio environment
  • Education qualification to degree level of photography or equivalent
  • Highly organised personality capable of retaining control of constantly changing studio demands
  • Ability to work as an individual with true initiative but able to take and act on clear instructions quickly and efficiently
  • Sharp eye for organisation and cleanliness
  • A real appreciation of studio fashion still life and model photography with a desire to assist LRP studios
  • Proven experience using Excel and Google Sheets
  • Basic understanding of logistics in general
  • Proven knowledge and ability working with Apple Mac OS
  • Willingness and ability to keep LRP studios in good running order whilst multitasking with the LRP Production Coordinator and LRP Admin Team
  • Polite, energetic and highly professional working and phone manner
  • Great timekeeping and self-motivation
  • Ability to easily get to and from Hackney on a weekday basis
