About: Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY is the fashion house founded by glaswegian designer Charles Jeffrey. Its visual identity is steeped in Jeffrey’s autobiographical primary research, with collections anchored by Charles’ personal styling codes, as well as those of his friends and collaborators. The result is a potent clash of references both subcultural and traditional, scottish and pagan, rooted in queer culture & interpreted through an illustrative & experimental approach to design.

LOVERBOY is seeking a Studio Manager to build out the brand’s existing operations team. As we grow the company and work across an expanded number of increasingly global projects, this role will play a crucial part in ensuring the brand’s smooth operation, allowing us to execute ideas and initiatives at an increasingly elevated level. Working under the Managing Director, the successful candiate will be responsible for co-ordinating brand projects and internal workflows, ensuring resources and time are directed where needed.

If successful, you will be accountable for identifying, recommending and implementing efficiencies concerning the working of the studio – By owning the office environment and bridging the gap between external operations and internal workflows you will be responsible for facilitating all brand projects and initiatives, working where necessary with external parties & agencies to ensure delivery of these projects on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will line manage a Studio Assistant or Intern whom you will be part of bringing onto the team.  The studio currently has an overall team of 8 people operating across numerous projects in a very fast paced way and this position would suit someone with a strong organisational mindset, a planning mentality and desire to create a structured environment in which creativity can thrive.  At LOVERBOY, no two days are the same, and ideas and projects come thick and fast – this is an exciting role at one of London’s most excited young design houses, and you will have the opportunity to make the position your own and make your mark on the future of the brand. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee project workflows, ensuring resources are allocated effectively
  • Manage studio projects and deadlines, overseeing and coordinating staff time and schedules, as appropriate
  • Implement and manage an efficient digital project management system for the team
  • Work with internal teams or where appropriate outsourced agencies to deliver general brand projects against agreed budgets (projects to include shows & brand events; shoots; collaborations; launches and content rollouts across digital and physical platforms)
  • Manage the company office ensuring it is kept in a tidy and usable condition, replacing stock of stationary and supplies and keeping all relevant information boards, noticies and celendars up to date.
  • Work with Company bookeepers to maintain good financial records
  • Bring together relevant stakeholders and take the lead in setting agenda for functional team meetings

Essential experience and skills

  • A sound knowledge of and interest in the fashion industry
  • Strong project management / traffic management skills
  • Experience managing operational workflows and identifying and implementing improvements
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects while under pressure
  • Demonstrable experience managing workflows within a fast-paced studio, ideally accrued within the fashion industry
  • At least 2 years' of experience in a similar role, or else in a project management position are essential

  • An innate drive to bring projects to completion
  • Excellent planning and organisational mentality
  • Good understanding of company finances and budget keeping
  • Comfortable dealing with stakeholders at different levels of seniority
  • Exceptional people skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Working hours are 10am-6pm, Monday to Friday, though occasional anti-social hours will be required depending on the nature of the project and around Fashion Weeks.
