Responsible for planning the supply of products from a group of TPMs (third-party manufacturers) to meet forecasted demand across ghd’s global business.  Manage the EXO (External Operations) processes in the SAP and JDA systems. There are three different roles within the Supply Planning team – Supply Planner, Supply Planner (Kitting) and Supply Planner (Innovations).

What will I do?

Supply Planner:

  • Lead the weekly and monthly processes in SAP and JDA to manage the supply of products from a group of TPMs (third-party manufacturers).
  • With accountability for global stock availability, plan the production schedule for each manufacturer.  Review and release purchase requisitions to maintain target stock levels in market.
  • Through the monthly Supply Review, part of ghd’s S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process, present the updated plans for each manufacturer, along with the impact on customer service, inventory and cost.
  • Working with the manufacturers and the ghd Deployment and Logistics teams, ensure that stock is despatched and delivered according to the agreed service level.
  • Track and report on-time in-full delivery for each manufacturer.
  • Work with the Supply Planner (Innovations) to make sure that Limited Edition and NPD requirements are built into the supplier schedules and delivered on time.  Ensure that the schedules are aligned to agreed sales forecasts and ramp up plans.
  • Lead the resolution of supply issues as they arise, agreeing actions with the manufacturers and the ghd teams in the UK and Hong Kong.  Anticipate issues to help manage Supply Chain risk.
  • Working closely with the Master Data team, ensure accurate master data is maintained in SAP/JDA.
  • Ensure SAP is fully updated with all inbound, outbound and finished goods movements.
  • Ensure stock accuracy targets are met through correct processing of stock movements – complete a regular reconciliation of ghd stock held at TPMs.
  • Identify every opportunity to drive out excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Raise purchase orders as required for ad hoc (non inventory) costs incurred at the manufacturers.

Supply Planner (Kitting):

  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact between ghd and the third party kitting operations.
  • Establish and run an efficient weekly planning process that meets the requirements of ghd and the kitting suppliers and fits within ghd’s overall S&OP process.
  • Plan the activity of the kitting operation, reviewing and releasing purchase requisitions to ensure that incoming stock is kitted and that target stock levels in market are maintained.
  • Provide a long-term view of kitting requirements to allow the kitting suppliers to plan their capacity.
  • Work closely with the other Supply Planners to understand any product constraints, ensuring that these are accurately reflected in the kitting schedule.
  • Work with the Supply Planner (Innovations) to make sure that Limited Edition and NPD requirements are built into the kitting schedule and delivered on time.
  • Ensure SAP is updated with the latest kitting schedule to allow the deployment of stock out to the ghd markets and end-to-end visibility of supply.
  • Raise purchase orders for packaging components to meet the kitting schedule.  Raise purchase orders for ad hoc (non inventory) costs as required.
  • Regularly review kitting order quantities and lot sizing and ensure these are correctly maintained in SAP/JDA.
  • Ensure stock accuracy targets are met through correct processing of stock movements – complete a regular reconciliation of ghd stock held at the kitting locations and oversee periodic physical counts.

Supply Planner (Innovations):

  • Take responsibility for planning the supply of new products and Limited Editions from start to finish, ensuring on time delivery to market whilst minimising air freight requirements.
  • Represent Supply Chain on the cross-functional Limited Edition and NPD (New Product Development) project teams.
  • Be responsible for agreeing the Supply Chain approach to each new product launch.
  • Working with the cross-functional project teams, ensure that new products are set up in SAP/JDA correctly and on time.
  • Ensure that new products flow smoothly through Supply Chain process, from manufacturing through kitting to deployment to market.  Work with the other Supply Planners to ensure that the required electrical and non-electrical components are available on time.
  • Ensure that the launch plans for new products and Limited Editions are clearly and accurately communicated.
  • Support the Supply Planning Manager in day to day escalations and to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team
