We are looking for a creative, Licensed Character Designer to join a busy, dynamic, fast-paced head office team in the Retail Sector.
The successful applicant will be involved in exciting new internal projects, new product categories across home textiles, and global customer briefs. This role is predominantly focused on licensed design; however, there will be opportunities to support the Private Label side of the business.
This is a full-time, hybrid position joining our small and friendly team.
The Role:
- Create exciting and high-quality designs across home textiles licensed product, including print ready files.
- Liaise with Licensors on internal and external projects ensuring designs adhere to brand guidelines and production capabilities.
- Identify and create mood boards based on key trends and themes tailored to character and market.
- Create strong design decks for core ranges, internal projects and customer specific briefs.
- Collaborate with the wider team on new developments and contribute innovative ideas.
- Conduct regular market research and attending trade shows.
- Liaise with product development and suppliers on production samples.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years' experience
- Excellent CAD skills in Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Confidence in presenting design concepts to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Great attention to detail and excellent eye for colour.
- Ability to work individually on projects and as part of a team.
- Great organisation skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills
- Ideally, experienced in in licenced design
- AVA experience would be an advantage.
- Home textile knowledge would be an advantage.
