Ambela is a denim-focused clothing brand built around a loyal, engaged community. Founded by an influencer with 2.8m followers, we're looking for a Trainee Product Developer to join our growing Product Development Team in Cardiff.

What the Trainee Product Developer will do:

  • Support the development of new and innovative products, working with the Product Developer and Garment Technologist to produce detailed Tech Packs
  • Help the Product Developer set up new Tech Packs, including design drawings, measurements, and seam and stitch information
  • Complete the Bill of Materials within each Tech Pack, noting fabric and trim references, colour codes, and packaging and label information
  • Take ownership of Ambela's in-house fabric, trim and accessory library, keeping it up to date
  • Coordinate the sample room so samples are ready when needed
  • Help prepare samples for fit sessions and check them against the Tech Pack before fittings
  • Update the critical path tracker weekly, working with garment and trim suppliers to confirm sample dates and flagging any issues
  • Communicate daily with our overseas garment factories, following up on samples, fabric and trim submissions
  • Send parcels to suppliers and record costs
  • Help with quality inspections at our UK warehouse, recording any faults or failures
  • Update in-house documents such as the Supplier and Packaging manuals
  • Support photoshoots when needed

What Ambela is looking for:

  • A Fashion, Clothing or Product Development degree (or similar), or circa 2 years' industry experience
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good time management, with the ability to prioritise and a willingness to be flexible
  • Confident with Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Able to work in person, Monday to Friday, from our Cardiff office
