Socktopus is looking for an experienced, proactive Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations within our organisation in Market Harborough.  Suitable applicants will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of logistics and supply chain management, and proficiency with various warehouse management systems.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead process improvements, optimise inventory management, and ensure seamless shipping and receiving functions.  The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for maintaining efficient workflows, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with safety standards - as well as getting behind the wheel when the business needs it, transporting stock to stores and event locations across the country.

Each day follows key operational processes, so the successful candidate will enjoy structure, organisation, and working independently. There is genuine opportunity for involvement and progression within the business.

Key Responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager…

Warehouse & Stock Control:

  • Oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and distributing stock;
  • Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate documentation;
  • Pick and pack transfers efficiently and accurately;
  • Lead process improvements and optimise inventory management;
  • Coordinate and support temporary staff during busy periods;
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and task allocation within the warehouse team;
  • Help ensure workflow efficiency and quality control across fulfilment operations;
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment;
  • Support office and warehouse opening/lock-up when required.

Driving & Deliveries:

  • Operate a Luton van to transport stock to stores and other locations as required;
  • Ensure deliveries are completed safely and on time;
  • Perform routine vehicle checks and report any issues;
  • Take responsibility for dispatched parcels and delivery accuracy.

Health & Safety:

  • Follow safety procedures and warehouse regulations;
  • Support health and safety compliance across all operations.
  • Working Pattern
  • 40 hours per week (working days may vary depending on operational requirements);
  • Occasional weekend work;
  • Longer hours during Q4 peak season.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move boxes and stock (approximately 20–25kg);
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods;
  • Ability to load and unload delivery vehicles safely.

What Socktopus is looking for…

Required:

  • Valid UK driving licence;
  • At least 2 years' experience in ecommerce fulfilment, warehouse management, or stockroom administration;
  • Strong leadership and people management skills;
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks;
  • Physical capability for warehouse work and lifting;
  • Strong numeracy and data-entry skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Experience with inventory and warehouse management systems.

  • Experience operating a Forklift;
