Workroom / Production Coordinator  wanted

Established over 10 years ago, this coveted luxury womenswear brand is now renowned for their distinct and iconic dresses. They are looking for an experienced Workroom Coordinator to join their team at their London studio in North West London. This would be ideal for an individual with an eye for detail, has multi-tasking skill and works at their own initiative.

The Role:

  • To lead the technical development process and to be present at all design handovers and fittings
  • Fit and assess all toiles/samples for each fit meeting
  • Working closely with the pattern cutter and machinist teams 
  • To create weekly schedules/ work planners/ fit lists for pattern cutters and machinists, booking/ cancelling freelancers accordingly in a timely manner in reaction to workload
  • To work closely with the pattern cutting and machinist teams to ensure RM standards are adhered to in terms of pattern measurements, fit, and construction techniques, taking into consideration production manufacturing processes and cost
  • To have an excellent understanding of annual department budgets and ensure spend is monitored continuously and concerns flagged to the Workroom Manager.  Ensure work completed by pattern cutters and machinists is done so in a timely, cost effective manner
  • Create and maintain the critical path for production
  • Oversee fabric and trim ordering and make sure factories – in house and external – have all materials and relevant information to start production and deliver on time. Problem solve when necessary
  • Ensure product meets a high quality standard
  • Capacity planning and forecasting to enable delivery date 
  • Source new manufacturers as and when necessary that offer competitive pricing
  • Working closely with the pattern cutter and machinist teams To have an excellent understanding of annual department budgets and ensure spend is monitored continuously and concerns flagged to the Workroom Manager

The Candidate:

  • Experience leading a team
  • High level of pattern cutting knowledge
  • A good understanding of sizing and fitting
  • To have a basic knowledge of grading
  • Experience using Excel - intermediate level
