Phoebe Philo is looking for an adaptable team player with experience and interest in accessories design to join the team as Graduate Accessories Design Trainee.  D

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the research of new bags and accessories for shape, construction, materials, details and overall mood. Covering both vintage and current market references.
  • Assist the Design team to illustrate design options via Photoshop renderings, 1:1 drawings or hand sketches as required.
  • Produce internal 3D mock ups in salpa for review, guided by technician and Design Team.
  • Produce internal stitch and hand trials in leather, guided by technician and Design Team.
  • Produce internal 3D mock-ups in a timely manner for presentations to the Creative Director, guided by the Technician and the Design Team.
  • Assist in updating the weekly bag collection plan, guided by Designer, LG. Update the physical collection plan board weekly.
  • Produce accurate basic launch files for prototypes, as directed by Senior Designer or Designer.
  • Produce line drawings for showroom, guided by Senior Designer.
  • Keep the digital design server and physical design studio organised.
  • Travel when required to collect samples for meetings.
  • Assist in set up and take down of meetings with creative director, photoshoots and shows when required.
  • Keep a photographic record of prototypes and samples on digital server

What Phoebe Philo is looking for:

  • Interest in Accessories Design (accessories present in portfolio work on application).
  • Fluent in English
  • Degree level in Design.
  • Ability to sketch by hand.
  • Computer skills – proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Technical capability to create mock-ups and work in 3D.
  • Willingness to learn and be coached across all aspects of the role.
  • Ability to use an industrial sewing machine.
  • Collaborative team player with strong initiative.
  • High level of creativity.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Creative design sensibility relevant to the brand.
  • Understanding of leathers and fabrics
