The Team

Our own brand technologist team, work in a fast-paced environment and with suppliers across the Far East, Europe and the UK to source and develop great value trend led products for our customers.  Reporting into the Technical Manager you will work to ensure that our products are good quality, fit for purpose and safe to sell; whilst also maximizing speed to market, sales and profit and minimizing markdown through low returns.  

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Technologist to join us.  

What the Assistant Garment Technologist will do:

• Product development from first fit to production – looking after multi-product categories. Work closely with an internal design team, buying, merchandising and your supply base to develop products. 
• Building strong relationships with your trading teams, sourcing hub colleagues and suppliers to develop strategies for areas of improvement and to maximize success. 
• Having a clear understanding of department critical path, supply base and trading calendar. 
• Developing knowledge of all UK/EU legislation to ensure all new products comply. 
• Develop knowledge and support as needed the team of technologists and the global product compliance team in the management of supplier quality failures. 

What The Very Group is looking for:

• Product development experience from first fit through to production within fashion and is able to demonstrate an understanding of how to develop a product range with a consistent fit and quality whilst working closely with designers and suppliers. 
• An understanding of grading and sizing regulations. 
• Numerical and analytical skills to review returns data. 
• An understanding of manufacturing faults and how to prevent these going forward. 
• An understanding of supply chain issues, for example: lead times/ flexibility/ supplier capability. 
• Able to work on your own initiative to complete tasks within a fast-paced environment. 
• Knowledge of Office 365. 
• You will be highly organised with great communication skills.
