Established by two London-based designers, Hector Rubio and Tom Astrella.Hector came from the factory-floor learning traditional shoemaking techniques, and Tom from a Product Design background with technical expertise in precision mould making. Having worked in the industry for over 10 combined years, the pair have first-hand experience of the entire footwear production process: research, trend analysis, sketches, renders, CAD’s, all the way through to development and production. |
Are you a creative designer with a genuine passion for footwear? The Footsoldiers is looking for a talented Footwear Design Intern to join its 20-person design team in Shoreditch, London.
We partner with a diverse portfolio of clients across the U.S., Europe and Asia, working across performance, lifestyle and technical footwear. Our team has extensive experience delivering successful projects for globally recognised brands including New Balance, KEEN, HOKA and Canada Goose.
The responsibilities of the role will vary, but typical duties will include:
- Producing attractive and effective designs.
- Produce a body of research on designated tasks.
- Communicating with senior team members to receive and implement feedback.
- Liaising effectively with clients and other team members.
- Supporting the team throughout the execution of projects.
What Footsoldiers is looking for:
- A creative thinker with a genuine passion for footwear and product design.
- Strong visual communication and design skills.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with an interest in or experience using emerging AI design tools such as Vizcom and Nano Banana.
- Ambitious, proactive and determined to develop as a designer.
- Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced studio environment.
- Able to take feedback constructively and translate it into stronger design work.
- Detail-oriented, with high standards for the quality of your work.
- A collaborative team player who is keen to learn.
